Boil alert lifted in all but a few Manitou Springs subdivisions
The City of Manitou Springs, through consultation through the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, will allow the Tier 1 Boil Water Advisory to apply to an isolated portion of the City's water distribution system, specifically the Lower Section of Crystal Hills Boulevard and Vias Subdivisions. All other areas, including the downtown business district are lifted from this advisory. The Lower Section of Crystal Hills Boulevard and Vias Subdivisions are having follow-up testing, which should have results by early Saturday morning and the advisory will be re-assessed with an update expected at 8 a.m. Streets specifically affected by the continuing Boil Water Advisory are: Via Linda VistaVia Maria TheresiaVia LomaVia Sierra GrandeVia PiedrasVia Chula VistaEscondido ValleVia VallecitoVia San MiguelBeckers Lane0 to 168 Paso Boulevard0 to 320 Manitou AvenueOak PlacePoplar PlaceSanta Fe Place0 to 308 Planview Place0 to 186 Crystal Park RoadWilla LaneDeneta Drive0 to 220 Crystal Hills BoulevardPalisade Circle For these areas only, residents are advised to not drink tap water without boiling it first. Residents should bring all water to a boil, let it boil for three (3) minutes, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Until further notice boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and preparing food. Any inquiries can be directed to the city at 685-5481.
