Boil order for Manitou extended

The city of Manitou Springs is extending its boil water advisory, for the entire city, until 3:00 p.m.Friday.

A positive test for bacteria was found in the Crystal Hills area.

The city will be looking to see if that part of the system can be safely partitioned off from the rest of the supply, as more testing is being conducted.

If that cannot be accomplished, the City will extend the Boil Water Advisory for the entire city until the new testing can be completed over the next 12 to 18 hours.

A final decision regarding the advisory will be made Friday afternoon.

The boil order was issued after a watermain break on Thursday that shut off water to much of the city.
