A roadside bomb injured seven people including three soldiers Sunday in northern Baghdad. According to NBC news, Iraqi police said the bomb targeted civilians and exploded while people were passing by a checkpoint.
Earlier in the week, around 70 people were killed when suicide bombers, car bombs and roadside bomb targeted more than a dozen Iraqi cities and towns on Monday.
The resurgence of violence is taking place less than five months before US troops are scheduled to leave Iraq.
