Boyfriend faces charge of having sex with Greeley girl

A 12-year-old girl found dead last week may have been stalked by her 18-year-old boyfriend who is charged with having a sexual relationship with the girl.

Court documents released Wednesday say Robert Laurencio Montoya told police that he hid in bushes outside Kayleah Wilson's home and tried talking to her at her middle school after Kayleah's mother broke up the relationship. Montoya also told police that Kayleah had called him a "stalker freak."

Police say the charge against Montoya is "separate and distinct" from Kayleah's homicide investigation. Police say they're looking at a range of individuals as part of the investigation.

Names in the affidavit were blacked out, but a family friend confirmed the details to The Associated Press.

Montoya is not a suspect in Kayleah Wilson's death.  Court documents released Wednesday say Montoya had been investigated in February for looking into windows at Brentwood Middle School, where Kayleah Wilson had been a sixth-grader.  The incident happened about a month after April Wilson told Montoya and Kayleah to end their relationship.
