Broncos encourage fans to wear orange for opener

DENVER - The Denver Broncos, who will open the NFL season against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday (6:30 p.m. MDT kickoff), are encouraging all fans to wear orange to the game and to be in their seats by 6:15 p.m. to participate in a special NFL Countdown to Kickoff moment.

The NFL announced that 32 legends, one representing each team, will count down to the 2013 NFL Kickoff Game on NBC in primetime. This unprecedented pregame celebration leads into the 94th season opener. Moments before kickoff, the 32 greats will appear on air counting down from 32 to 1. The "King of countdowns," Ryan Seacrest, also will make a live appearance to help the fans get ‘Back to Football' and start the new year.

"I'm excited to join my friends at NBC Sports and the National Football League for the countdown to the 94th season opener between the Broncos and the Ravens." Seacrest said. "It's going to be an amazing pregame show, offering an auspicious beginning to another incredible NFL season."

Broncos Ring of Famer Terrell Davis will serve as an honorary captain and accompany the rest of the Broncos captains to midfield for the pregame coin toss.

"For me it's always an honor to come back to Denver, a place where the memories are so deep," Davis said. "To come back for the coin toss to kick off the season-hopefully it's a start of a season that culminates in a championship for Denver."

The national anthem will be performed by Danielle Bradbery, the Season Four winner of NBC's The Voice.

"I am always honored to sing our national anthem but to be able to sing it at the NFL Kickoff Game in Denver is like a dream come true," Bradbery said. "I am so excited!"

Fans attending the game will receive an orange rally towel courtesy of game day sponsor Bud Light.

Denver's City and County Building will be lit up in orange Wednesday night (thanks in part to a #UnitedinOrange fan petition promoted by 9News and the Denver Broncos).

Game day at Sports Authority Field at Mile High will start early with Al Roker from the TODAY Show on site at 5 a.m. alongside Broncos Superfans, Mascots Miles & Thunder, Denver Broncos Cheerleaders and select fans in the audience.

Miles the Mascot along with several Broncos Superfans will then pick-up Denver Mayor Michael Hancock at 3:30 p.m. and ride along with him to the game on a Broncos-themed pedicab down 13th Street.

The Mile High Mountain Village presented by Bud Light will open at 2:30 p.m. and is free and open to all fans with a game ticket. The main entrance is located at Gate 4 and represents the fans' first chance to come inside the stadium. The area features field viewing sections, pregame programming, the Tavern at Mile High, food and Bud Light specials and appearances by Broncos Cheerleaders, alumni and Miles the Mascot.

Outside of the game, fans can enjoy the Sports Legends Mall on the south end of the stadium. Free and open to the public, the outdoor area will appeal to fans coming via public transportation and will feature sponsor booths with football-themed activities, a beer garden, pregame programming and live music beginning at 3:30 p.m.

These special events, coupled with the action on the field, will help make the 2013 Broncos home opener exciting and memorable.
