Broncos fans might still be in a rut, but the team is not. If anything, the two "Johns" are chomping at the bit.
"We didn't play very well," says John Elway on the Broncos 43-8 loss in the Super Bowl.
The disappointment in New Jersey is the freshest thing in the mind of Broncos fans. But the team is moving on.
"We're shifting gears now to the off-season, and that's business part of it," says John Fox, Broncos Head Coach. "A lot of decisions to be made. All decisions that are going to be made to improve our football team."
The biggest decision will not be made by the team, but by Peyton Manning, on whether or not to return.
"We're going to keep building like Peyton is going to be here," says Elways. "If Peyton decides to hang them up, we have expectations hopefully to make that transition. It's going to be tough but, you know, we're going to be hopefully ready for that transition."
Regardless of whether the M.V.P. returns under center, the goal has not changed.
"The bottom line is, we're going to work as hard as we worked this year, if not harder, and continue to do that with the mindset of we want to be world champions," syas Elways. "We're going to do everything we can to get there."
The NFL draft starts May 8th, the Broncos have the 31st pick.
