A new study finds brushing your teeth twice a day not only keeps your breath fresh -- it may also help your heart.
Researchers at University College London studied data from over 11,000 adults and found those who did not brush their teeth often had a 70 percent increased risk for heart disease compared to those who brushed two times a day. The researchers adjusted for factors that have been linked to heart disease, like obesity, smoking and family history of heart disease.
The researchers used data from the Scottish Health Survey. The study was published in the British Medical Journal.
