Canon City passes medical marijuana moratorium

In Cañon City Monday night, all seven city council members unanimously passed a 120 day moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries.
The ordinance prohibits any new dispensaries from operating within city limits. Applications for a permit or license to operate a medical marijuana dispensary will not be processed during that time.
Right now, there is only one medical marijuana dispensary in Canon City. City Clerk, Becky Walker says this operation was established before the council passed the moratorium and can legally operate.
