COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A survey of Air Force Academy cadets found 41 percent of those who consider themselves non-Christian said they were subjected to unwanted proselytizing at least once or twice last year.

The academy offered the voluntary, anonymous survey to cadets in December and January. Nearly half responded. The school will release some specifics on Friday. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the figures beforehand. The academy has been working to improve religious tolerance since a 2004 survey found many cadets heard disparaging remarks about other religions and some felt ostracized.

They school initially declined to release specifics but reversed course after several groups, including the AP, filed Freedom of Information Act requests.
