California wildfires to blame for our smoky skies

Firefighters have been chasing down reports of smoke and the smell of smoke for much of the day Monday.  Turns out the smoke has traveled a long way--from California.

National Weather Service meteorologist Norv Larson said, "Looking at satellite trajectories, we can follow it all the way back to California. These fires are so large and burning so hot they're generating their own weather and lofting smoke thousands of feet into the atmosphere."

There are a few fires in Colorado and Utah, but they are too small to produce this amount of smoke.
