Camping out for free food

About 100 people in Colorado Springs will be eating a lot of chicken in the next year.

After a long wait outside, the Chick-Fil-A fans were the first ones through the door at the new store on Garden of the Gods Road as it opened Thursday morning.

As a reward for their eagerness, they were given coupons for 52 free Chick-Fil-A meals.

Everyone in the group had set up camp in the parking lot the night before, including one man who came all the way from Florida.

Richard Coley has been to 38 Chick-Fil-A openings in 14 states in the course of four years.

"It's a product and a company worth dedicating to," Coley said.

While he's collected some 1,976 meal coupons, Coley says he hasn't kept them all. He says he likes to give them away to family members, friends and people at church.

Joining the crowd was News First 5's very own sports-man Jordan Mason.  This is the third Chick-Fil-A that Jordan has camped out at for the free food.
