FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - Military police were searching for the driver of a car that drove onto Fort Carson without permission Saturday afternoon.

The Gazette reported that the car drove onto the post through Gate 3. A man driving a white Dodge Stratus with a paper temporary plate had been told to go to Gate 1 to get the proper pass to enter the post.

Fort Carson spokeswoman Lori Waters says the armed MPs guarding Gate 3 allowed the car to enter the post to make a U-turn, but instead the driver - described as a white male in his mid 20s - kept going.

It was unclear whether the car or the driver had been found.
