Carmelo scratched for game in Boston

BOSTON (AP) - Star forward Carmelo Anthony has been scratched from the Denver Nuggets' game at Boston with inflammation in his right knee.

It's the first game that Anthony has missed this season.

Denver had won seven in a row before losing to Charlotte on Tuesday night. Nuggets coach George Karl will go for his 1,000th win in the NBA for the second time, but he'll have to do it without Anthony, who is averaging 22.8 points and nearly eight rebounds per
game.

Rookie Gary Forbes was expected to start in his place Wednesday night.
