A Colorado Springs Police Officer has had his badge and now his pay lifted. Officer Joshua Carrier is suspected of committing over 15 crimes involving children.
Carrier was initially arrested on May 11th for child porn. Just days later police dropped another bombshell... Carrier was also suspected of sexually abusing 5 different kids. When Carrier was placed on paid leave, Chief Richard Myers promised quick action if Carrier was formally charged. "We are following our civil service rules." he explained last Friday, "If he is formally charged with felonies in an open court, we can and intend on pursuing a suspension without pay."
Tuesday Carrier was charged with 11 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor for allegedly possessing child pornography. On Wednesday he was suspended from the force without pay. Carrier can still appeal the suspension, but termination could come just as swift. "Ultimately down the road he could he be facing termination." explains Sgt. Steve Noblitt with CSPD, "Nonetheless we've put the wheels in motion and we're going to do what's right for the Colorado Springs community."
