Sometimes, it takes just a small sliver of information about a murder to solve the case--something that may seem insignificant to the person who knows the information.

In an effort to catch killers who, until now, have gotten away with murder, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) launched a web site Thursday featuring its Cold Case files. You may search the database by name, city, crime date, sex--any information that you have.

"CBI would like everyone to view this website and consider any information they can provide to help solve a cold case and assist families and other co-victims see these cases progress towards resolution," said CBI Director Ronald Sloan.

Colorado is the second state in the nation to launch a statewide Cold Case web site, after Utah.

CBI Cold Case Analyst Audrey Simkins spent three years verifying the information.
