CBI sets up hotline for identity theft

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has set up a toll-free hotline for victims of identity theft and fraud.

The CBI's statewide identity theft hotline connects to crime victim specialists. The hotline serves both English- and Spanish-speaking callers.

Crime victims should still file reports with local police or sheriff's deputies. The CBI hotline will provide investigative and victim assistance to anyone seeking guidance in improving personal financial security, dealing with compromised information and general questions regarding ID theft.

The CBI hotline is 1-855-443-3489.
