CDOT: I-25 expansion running behind schedule

The $60 million construction project to widen an 11-mile stretch of Interstate 25 between Woodmen Road and Monument is running about a month behind schedule. A Colorado Department of Transportation spokesperson says a combination of factors have put work behind schedule: a late start to favorable construction weather in the springtime, the wildfires that plagued the region in June, and recent heavy rains. Despite being behind schedule, CDOT says they still anticipate completion of the project by the original target date of December 31.
