CDOT rolls rocks, but the going is slow

CDOT work crews continue to spend long days breaking up rocks and hauling them away, but the going is slow at a rock slide one mile west of Cotopaxi.
Highway 50 has been blocked since Monday by an estimated 7,000 tons of rocks. That's enough to fill 30 average-size swimming pools.
Some of the rocks are so large crews have to drill into them to split them into smaller pieces.
Highway 50 may open Sunday, but it could take longer.
