Chalk art to liven up downtown Colorado Springs

Chalk art with an Olympic theme will be on display Wednesday at the corner of Tejon and Pikes Peak. Artist Douglas Rouse will portray rhythmic gymnastics in three dimensions as part of the Olympic Assembly that's happening this week.
Rouse will start his work at 7 a.m. Wednesday and be finished by 6 p.m.
Rouse is a talented artist based in Colorado Springs who has created murals, street paintings, and chalk art drawings across the United States, among a variety of other artistic endeavors. The Downtown Development Authority is funding the work.
