Charges have been filed in the dragging death of a Colorado Springs tow truck driver. 32-year old Detra Farries is behind bars tonight on a manslaughter charge. Farries was charged Friday night.
She's accused of dragging 35-year old Allen Rose for a mile, on Wednesday. Rose was trying to tow her car at the Hill Park Apartment complex on North Murray Blvd. when police say Farries got in and drove off. The cable caught Rose's leg and pulled him.
"The investigation is ongoing and the information right now is limited, but there was probable cause to establish, to arrest, Ms. Farries for manslaughter, which is a class-4 felony," says Sgt. Michael Spitzmiller with the C.S.P.D.
"She knows there is no amount of apologies that can bring him back, but she just really wants them (rose's family) to know she is sincere and deeply apologetic about the entire thing," says Farries niece Malika Clarke.
Farries is currently being held in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center. Family members say they hope to bail her out soon. Farries bond is set at $50,000.
