Chicago Hospital Shooting

CHICAGO (AP) - Authorities say a woman has died after being shot at the parking garage of a hospital complex in Chicago.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the fatality early Friday to The Associated Press but provided no other information about the victim. The University of Illinois at Chicago also classified the incident as a fatal shooting in an alert posted on its website just before 4 a.m. CST.
Chicago Police Sgt. Al Stinites tells The Chicago Sun-Times the shooting happened late Thursday on the second floor of a parking lot at the medical center. He says the victim is the ex-girlfriend of the suspected gunman.
He says the hospital has been put on lockdown but there are no reports of patients or employees being injured.
