Children with asthma are vulnerable to the flu

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, children are particularly vulnerable to the flu, especially if they have an underlying condition.
Kids who have respiratory conditions like asthma can experience severe complications from the flu. In fact, a recent study found 67-percent of kids who died with the H1N1 virus had at least one underlying condition.
But some flu symptoms, like trouble breathing, can be similar to asthma, making it difficult for parents of children with asthma and allergies to spot the flu. Experts with the american academy of allergy, asthma and immunology say that if your child suffers from asthma and develops a fever and vomiting, call the doctor.
That advice also goes for adults with respiratory problems like asthma and COPD, as well.
