City and volunteers help residents with flood mitigation

The City of Colorado Springs Office of Emergency Management along with volunteers filled sandbags Saturday morning to help homeowners who could be impacted by potential flooding following the Waldo Canyon Fire. Volunteers and the OEM distributed the sandbags at the Verizon Wireless building from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. For more information on potential flooding around the burn scar, visit springsgov.com/floodinfo. The City also encourages residents to consult a certified erosion and sediment control consultant or contractor to manage flood mitigation.
