City councilman resigns seat in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs city councilman Jerry Heimlicher is resigning his seat, citing personal reasons. The announcement was made at a meeting Tuesday afternoon. Heimlicher is expected to move out-of-state.
First elected to city council in 2005 and re-elected earlier this year, Heimlicher has a long history of community service on various state and local boards.
