El Paso County Parks and the Pikes Peak United Way will host a clean up day at the Bear Creek Dog Park on Saturday.

The event is called Happy Hounds Day and is part of the national "Make A Difference Day" campaign. Volunteers will be provided pizza and soft drinks. Gloves and other tools will be provided.

"In addition to making a lasting difference and impacting the lives of thousands of citizens who utilize the Bear Creek Dog Park each year, citizens participating in this Saturday's Park clean-up will be a part the largest community-wide volunteer effort in El Paso County - underscoring the merits of team-building and community service, in addition to investing in our Parks and Trails systems," said El Paso County Parks Community Outreach Coordinator Dana Nordstrom.

The clean up happens from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 2 at Bear Creek Regional Park.
