Cold again today...warmer temps on the way

TODAY: Dangerously cold temps to start the day with wind chill values below zero! The forecast will start with plenty of sunshine, but expect increasing clouds by later today and tonight as a disturbance moves out of Utah into Colorado. There will be a few snow showers in the mountains over the Continental Divide, so about 2-3" of new snow are possible today through tonight. Locally we'll see high temps this afternoon staying colder than average again. Only about 34 in the Springs, 31 in Pueblo at the airport...touch milder downtown. 20's for temps today in Teller County!

TONIGHT: Bitter cold readings again overnight...just not quite as cold as lows this morning. Skies will be partly cloudy early with clearing in spots very late. A few areas of patchy fog are possible by Tuesday morning. Low tonight of 11 in the Springs and 6 degrees in Pueblo.

TUESDAY: Another cold day expected tomorrow with more cold, below average temps. Good news is that we'll see mostly sunny skies during the day to help make it feel a bit warmer than it actually is.

WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY: Abundant sunshine and MUCH warmer temps! Highs both days will be at least 15-25 degrees warmer than today. Skies will be sunny to mostly sunny.

FRIDAY: Another weak storm is on the way and will begin to bring more snow showers to the mountains...including a chance during the day of a few snow showers over the Rampart Range and the Wet and Sangre de Cristo Mountains. High temps will be about 3-5 degrees cooler than Thursday with increasing clouds during the day as that storm system approaches.

FRIDAY NIGHT: As that wave of energy and cool front arrive we'll have a slight chance overnight of a few light snow showers at the lower elevations. Chances about 20% for Colorado Springs and El Paso County....with lower chances for Pueblo and the rest of the lower elevations.

SATURDAY-SUNDAY: Sunshine returns for the weekend but it will be very chilly. High temps will only be in the lower to middle 40's in the Springs and upper 40's to near 50 in Pueblo.
