GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - A team of cold-case experts will investigate the death of a Grand Junction woman who led a double life as a devoted mom and an escort for hire before she disappeared in 2007.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reported Friday the Colorado Bureau of Investigation's cold-case team will look into the death of 34-year-old Paige Birgfeld.
DNA tests confirmed that human remains found in 2012 were Birgfeld's. Authorities consider her death a homicide but they haven't been able to determine how she died.
Police say they have a suspect who was a client of Birgfeld's service, Models Inc. He hasn't been arrested.
Prosecutors and investigators will present the case to the CBI team in Denver on Sept. 12.
Prosecutors say consulting with CBI doesn't mean the investigation is stalled.
