TODAY: Cold today with areas of snow showers expected! High temps will only reach 30 in the Springs and about 36-37 degree for Canon City and Pueblo. Snow becomes more likely over Teller and El Paso Counties by later in the morning and then for the Front Range from late morning through this evening. How much snow might we see? Colorado Springs will have about 1-2" possible, 2-4" for Monument Hill the USAFA and across Teller County. Pueblo mainly a Trace to less than 1". Maybe as much as 1-2" for Canon City, Walsenburg and Trinidad. Foothills and higher elevations of the We and Sangre de Cristo Mtns will have a range of 2-5".
TONIGHT: Snow ends from the north to the south during the evening with some gusty north winds possible at times overnight. By early tomorrow morning we're expecting clearing skies and cold temps. Overnight lows for Colorado Springs and Pueblo will be about 13 degrees! Brrr!
WEDNESDAY: Good news in the forecast for tomorrow in the form of plenty of sunshine. You'll be happy it is sunny because it is going to be cold! Temps across eastern Colorado will be only around 33 in the Springs and Briargate...around 40 or so in Pueblo and Canon City. We'll start with a little bit of a breeze in the morning and then much lighter winds during the rest of the day.
THURSDAY: Staying chilly with temps only reaching 38 in the Springs and lower 40's for Pueblo and Canon. There will be another little wave of energy pass through the mountains...a few light snow showers possible for the higher elevations along and west of the Continental Divide. We are just expecting partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies here locally.
FRIDAY: Plenty of sunshine and warmer to begin March. Skies will be dry and temps will warm to around 44 in the Springs and 50 in Canon City, Pueblo and La Junta. These temps still a little cooler than average, but much warmer than temps earlier in the week.
SATURDAY-SUNDAY: First weekend of March will be a good one for spending some time outside. Highs are expected to be the warmest we have had in since the 17th day of February. 50 degrees in Colorado Springs, 53 at Ft. Carson and about 56 in Pueblo. We expect a few more clouds around for Sunday, but temps should be another 5 degrees warmer compared to Saturday.
MONDAY: Our first chance of moisture for the new month arrives with the first Monday. There is a storm that will pass through the region bringing more snow to the mountains for skiers and boarders and a chance for some rain or snow in eastern Colorado. Chances for precip are pretty low as of right now...20% in the Springs...only about 10% chance for Pueblo, but as much as 30% across Teller County and the mountains west of I-25. Expect temps to be about 6-10 degree colder on Monday with cooler air accompanying the weak storm system.
