Colo. man to sit with First Lady for jobs speech

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) - An engineer from suburban Denver is in Washington to listen to the president's jobs pitch to Congress.
Forty-three-year-old Kirk Bergstrom of Centennial was among 24 people invited by the White House to sit with First Lady Michelle Obama Thursday night.
He's a project engineer working on the expansion of the Denver area's light rail system to Denver International Airport.
The Denver Post reported that Bergstrom was working part-time at a Target store last year until he landed the job on the construction project, which is getting federal funding.
The White House said that Bergstrom had considered traveling back and forth to a job in Kansas before getting his current job.
Others invited to join the First Lady include the mayors of Cincinnati and Los Angeles and the CEO of General Electric.
