DENVER (AP) - Colorado casino revenues for April fell 2.6 percent over the previous month, but rose over the same period last year.

The Colorado Department of Revenue reported Friday that casinos reported $64 million in adjusted gross proceeds, up 1.9 percent from April a year ago but down from $66 million in March.

Proceeds are the amount wagered by bettors less the payouts from casinos.

Black Hawk's 17 casinos were down 1.2 percent from March; Cripple Creek's 13 casinos were down 8.7 percent and Central City's seven casinos were down 1.7 percent.

Casinos paid $11 million in gaming taxes in April, equal to the amount paid in March.
