COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Josh Thorimbert made 20 saves and Colorado College scored twice in the second period to beat Union 2-1 Saturday in a men's college hockey game on Saturday.

The Tigers allowed No. 10 Union (9-5-5) just two shots on goal in the third period. Union's Wayne Simpson cut the deficit to one with a goal at 19:20.

After a scoreless first period that saw both goalies make eight saves, Colorado College's David Civitarese and Nick Dineen scored in the second to stake the sixth-ranked Tigers (12-6-0) to a two-goal lead.

It was the second straight game that Colorado College, the top-scoring team in the nation, was held below its average of 4.19 goals per game. The Tigers lost 2-1 to Air Force on Friday.

Troy Grosenick had 22 saves for Union.
