College football coaches from around the state played nice together under the same roof this afternoon. Part of the sports corps football kickoff luncheon.
CU, CSU, Air Force, CSU-Pueblo, and Northern Colorado were all represented by their coaches today at the Hotel Elegante in Colorado Springs. Football season is almost here, and coaches Wristen and Calhoun talked about the work their teams have gotten in since spring ball ended.
"Well there's not a lot of offseason, you know, for our guys, we really haven't had an opportunity to work with our guys," says Calhoun. "They've been gone, or have been involved in summer training activities. By and large, when we get to the first of August, I anticipate everyone ought to be able to go once we start practice."
"I really challenged our guys at the end of April," says Wristen. "This is your performance, this is your concert series you're going on, let's make it unbelievable. You have to do a lot of stuff throughout the summer and our guys have been unbelievable."
Air Force is coming off a 2-10 season, while CSU-Pueblo was upset at home in the 2nd round of the playoffs last year.
