Colorado couple dies in Indiana plane crash

Southern Indiana officials say the two people killed in plane crash near the Ohio River were a Colorado couple en route from Georgia to Kentucky.

David and Elizabeth Schump of Windsor, Colorado, died Sunday night when their turboprop Piper crashed into a soybean field.

Floyd County Coroner Leslie Knable said Monday that the couple's relatives say the pair routinely traveled by plane.

Autopsy results were pending.

Authorities say the pair was traveling from coastal Georgia to Bowman Field in Louisville, Kentucky, when their plane crashed.

Witnesses say the craft spiraled into the ground. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were on the scene Monday looking for clues to the cause of the crash.
