The husband of a Colorado woman accused of smothering their infant son because she believed he was autistic has filed for divorce, according to court documents.

Thirty-four-year-old Stephanie Rochester of Superior is charged with first-degree murder in the June 1 suffocation of 6-month-old Rylan. An arrest affidavit says she told investigators that she believed her son was autistic and that she wanted to commit suicide.

Twenty-nine-year-old Lloyd Rochester says in a petition for divorce that the marriage is "irretrievably broken."

He has retained a defense attorney, but authorities say Lloyd Rochester is not "chargeable" at this time.

Stephanie Rochester was arrested after she and her husband took their son to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
