Colorado Republicans were in Phoenix Wednesday to learn about Arizona's new immigration enforcement measure and talk about crafting one of their own.
Colorado Rep. Kent Lambert, who is running for Senate this year, says he plans to introduce legislation that matches Arizona's law "as identically as possible."
Lambert and other members of the Republican Study Committee met with Arizona lawmakers at the state Capitol.
Arizona's law requires police to investigate the immigration status of anyone they suspect are illegal immigrants. A federal judge blocked the law's most controversial aspects a day before it was going to take effect last month.
Tennessee and Utah also sent delegations to Arizona this summer to get advice on creating immigration laws like Arizona's.
