State lawmakers worked late into the night to pass a new budget.
Final passage came while you slept.
Lawmakers credit an improved economy for giving them new flexibility this year.
They wasted no time outlining their priorities.
The big one: No new taxes.
Priorities include everything from fire and flood recovery to prevention, increased K-12 spending and $100 million in higher education funding, it boosts Colorado's reserve when many states are drowning in debt and modernizes the Division of Motor Vehicles...a big source of aggravation to taxpayers.
And maybe we'll see fewer tumbleweeds in Southern Colorado.
The new budget includes money for tumbleweed mitigation.
The budget now goes to the state senate.
