A Colorado man is helping thousands find jobs one click at a time. Andrew Hudson is no stranger to success. He was press secretary for former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb and one of the minds behind Frontier Airlines' "Talking Animals".
While working for the city, Hudson sent out a weekly email promoting Denver. Through his contacts, he also started posting available jobs. "What I found out was a lot of people saw that this list was becoming relatively influential and they started sending me jobs to put on the email list serve." he explains.
The emails became so influential that Hudson started his own website dedicated to the job listings. In a time where jobs are scarce, Hudson has connected thousands of Coloradans with Colorado companies in need of good employees. "I really think the secret sauce is that the fact is the companies that post jobs on my site are local companies, and they're reaching in to local talent." he says.
While the website serves a purpose, Hudson, who also gives seminars on job hunting, says your best bet is to log off and head out. "Ironically I tell people to stay off the computer as much as possible. Use it to look for jobs." he explains, "But what you should really be doing is going out and networking and talking to people."
