Colorado man dies in Washington apartment fire

The man who died in a Redmond, Washington, apartment fire early Saturday morning was from the Colorado Springs area.

News First 5 has learned David Thompson, 32, and his four young sons, Tristan (12), David (6), Laviticus (4) and Wyatt (2), died in the fire at the Sammamish Ridge Apartments, about 15 miles east of Seattle.  A family friends says Thompson grew up in the Security-Widefield area and recently moved to Redmond for a fresh start, working for a moving company and working to become a firefighter.

Thompson's wife, Lilly Resor, survived the fire and is in stable condition at a hospital in Kirkland, Washington.
