Newly released rankings today show Colorado ranks 8th in overall health this year among all states.
That's according to United Health Foundation's annual rankings.
We're one up from last year when we were ninth.
Some of our strengths include low obesity and diabetes.
While challenges include high binge drinking and drug deaths.
"It's a very useful tool because it gives us data and knowledge about the problems with health in different states You can't fix something unless you measure it so with these measures we have actionable information that we can make things better for our citizens," said Dr. Bill Mandell, Medical Director for United Healthcare of Colorado.
Hawaii is the healthiest state and Mississippi is the least healthy.
