The year's State Winter Games for the Special Olympics has been saved with a donation of about $80,000.
The event at Copper Mountain had been called off for lack of money. But Special Olympics Colorado tells The Denver Post that the games are back on thanks to an anonymous donation from a Denver-area couple.
This year's 32nd annual games are in late March at Copper Mountain Resort and in an ice arena in Vail. About 400 athletes are expected.
