Colorado Springs dad survives accident that killed his family

The Wyoming Highway Patrol just released the names of four Colorado Springs family members, killed in a washout.

Laurel Constantinides, 39

Zoey Constantinides, 5

Lucia Constantinides, 2

Hanna Constantinides, 8

Alex Constantinides, 39, survived the accident.

Investigators say the family had just been told to evacuate their campground due to flooding. They drove their VW van into a washed out portion of Highway 130. The van was found 75 yards downstream.

Troopers say Alex Constantinides was able to get himself out of the van and climb onto a bush pile. It was too late for his family. He then helped rescue another man in an SUV who also drove into the washout.

We're working to learn more about the family and we'll bring you what we learn here and on News First 5 at 5.
