Colorado to be monitored for voter fraud

DENVER (AP) - Federal officials in Colorado and across the country will be monitoring elections next Tuesday for complaints of voter fraud or voting rights abuses.

U.S. Attorney John Walsh says Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas O'Rourke will be in charge of handling complaints in Colorado while the polls are open. During Election Day, O'Rourke can be reached at (303) 454-0209.

The FBI also will have special agents available Tuesday to handle allegations of election fraud or other abuses. They can be reached at (303) 629-7171.

Former Attorney General John Ashcroft established the Justice Department's nationwide Ballot Access and Voting Integrity Initiative in 2002.
