It's Friday!!! And after a long, wet, cloudy and cool week, I think we're all looking forward to the weekend! The weather is showing some big improvements. So make some plans to get outside and enjoy some fresh air.
Today will still be cool. Temperatures will be 10-15 degrees below average. But at least some sunshine returns. That big, bright, yellow thing you're seeing in the sky - that's the sun! It's been a while since some of us have seen it! But even though we're seeing some sunshine, it doesn't mean that we won't see any rain. Spotty afternoon/evening showers will be seen in and around the I-25 corridor as well as the high country.
Your weekend forecast calls for more sun, less clouds, less rain, and a little more heat. So each day you can expect a little more sun and less clouds - by Sunday many areas will be mostly sunny! A stray shower will be possible each afternoon, but this will be the exception, not the norm. And as for temperatures, yes they are going up, but they'll still be below average - and for many, this means very comfortable for August standards.
After the weekend, the forecast stays pretty consistent. We'll see partly sunny skies each day, with afternoon t-storms. Next week's pattern is more of the typical weather we're used to seeing here in Colorado for the summer months. However, temperatures will still stay about 5 degrees below average, so no major heat heading this way. In fact, we haven't had any Heat Advisories or Heat Alerts yet this summer!
I hope you have a great weekend and can enjoy the weather... Meteorologist Valerie Abati
