Expectant mothers can learn about raising happy, healthy, and safe children at the 2nd annual Community Baby Shower presented by the Pueblo Early Childhood Council and the Colorado State University-Pueblo Nursing Department. The free event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, May 18 at the Praise Assembly of God Church in Pueblo at 2000 Troy Avenue.
The community baby shower offers pregnant women and parents of children up to 5 years of age an opportunity to gain knowledge about the growth, development, and health of children. Parents can learn how to keep their children safe and healthy and how to access the tools and services necessary to make sure their children grow, learn, and play in the best possible way.
Last year, numerous local community partners came together to help improve the health of Pueblo children. This is a wonderful educational opportunity for new parents to learn from local health care representatives and gain knowledge to help their babies learn and grow.
Numerous resources will be available, including car seat safety checks, as well as information on Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) opportunities, vaccinations, and nutrition. Door prizes, giveaways, coupons, and samples will be featured as well as a story time for children.
