On Saturday morning, just 12 hours after rain pummeled Manitou Springs, numerous people were out helping clean up the mess.
"It was a little deja vu last night going through this once again," says Rev. David Hunting, public information officer with the Manitou Springs Fire Department.
Hunting says the flood was not an issue for businesses going into Memorial Day Weekend, and that there should be no financial impact on the city.
CDOT says it's protocol to shut down Highway 24 when there is at least half an inch of rain. It is a proactive procedure used to keep the public safe while traveling.
