The 13th Annual Homeless Veterans Stand Down event took place in the Colorado Springs City Auditorium on Thursday.

Around twenty-two different types of stations including flu shots, dental exams, employment and housing services were present to help homeless Veterans get back on their feet.

The Pikes Peak Workforce Center and the El Paso County Homeless Veterans Coalition anticipated approximately 125 homeless veterans would come to the event.

The organizers had 150 pairs of jeans, hiking boots, coats and many more items to give away to the veterans. Veterans also had the option to receive a haircut, shower, and eat a warm meal.

Anyone who wishes to financially support this effort may send a check to the El Paso County Homeless Veterans Coalition, P.O. Box 1841, Colorado Springs, CO 80901-1841.
