Complete whiteout in Calhan

CALHAN- Sustained heavy winds and blowing snow have completely erased any visibility in and around the town of Callan in eastern El Paso County.
The county snow plow pictured here is stopped just off of the side of the road near the Loaf n Jug convenience store, and the road behind is a complete blur.
The snowfall is considerably heavier here than just a few miles west near the towns of Peyton and Falcon. There is also a greater accumulation of snow on the roads.
At 6,535 feet of elevation, Calhan is geographically one of the highest places in the county. Schools here are closed for the day.
