There are lots of high school and college graduations going on right now; today was commencement for students at University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
Thousands of undergrads and graduate students gathered at the World Arena this morning. It was an extra special day for one mom and her son, who got their degrees together. "I had to stop when I had him which wasn't a bad thing. I raised him then decided it was the right time for me to go back and I'm excited I was able to do it with him," Melissa Lucero told News 5.
Among the graduates was Terry Garrett- we met him earlier this week. He's the first blind student to earn a degree in mechanical engineering. His seeing-eye dog wore a cap and gown too.
A big congratulations to all our graduates in Southern Colorado!
