The national health care debate played out in Colorado Springs on Monday. Hundreds gathered at the Stargazer Event Center in Colorado Springs for a town hall meeting with Congressman Doug Lamborn (R).
A small but loud minority interrupted Lamborn several times, yelling "Tell the truth" and "You lie." Lamborn repeatedly asked them to let him speak.
He and it seemed most of the crowd oppose the "government option" which would allow the federal government to sell health care, in effect competing with private industry.
"I'd like them to leave people alone who already have insurance," said Janell Klein who attended the event.
Others disagreed. Several in the crowd volunteered with a group of progressive activists called "Change that works."
"I believe that government needs to be involved in health care," said Tony Wolusky.
Lamborn said he wanted to hear from both sides of the aisle and took several questions. This is the third and final town hall he will hold on health care.
