Cool & quiet for now...

TONIGHT: Clearing skies and falling temps. Lows around 23 in Colorado Springs and 16 in Pueblo. Teller County readings will be around 19 degrees...about that at the USAFA.

TUESDAY: Compared to the high clouds we had around on Monday we'll see abundant sunshine Tuesday with warmer than average temps. High for the Springs will reach 50 right around 1:30 PM. Pueblo will warm to around 53 degrees by about 2:15 PM. Winds tomorrow will be light and skies all across Colorado will be dry with the exception of a few light flurries in the far northern mountains.

WEDNESDAY: Plenty of sun most of the day with high temps close to max readings on Tuesday. You might notice a few cloud increasing later in the afternoon due to a weak area of low pressure to our south. During the overnight hours that wave of energy could bring a stray shower or two, to Baca County in far southeastern Colorado.

THURSDAY: Another quiet and dry day across the News 5 viewing area with temps again right around the lower 50's in the Springs and lower to middle 50's in Pueblo.

FRIDAY: Here come the changes! Cold front and a Pacific storm system will move through the region which means an increasing chance of snow locally by Friday late afternoon and evening! Chances for snow will be 30% for Colorado Springs, northern El Paso and Teller Counties. Snow could actually start around or just after lunch-time across the mountains close to home. Chances for showers for places like Pueblo, Canon City and La Junta will be about 20%. High temps will be early in the day and then fall by afternoon as the colder air streams through eastern Colorado. If you are a skier or snowboarder there will be fresh, new snow for making tracks all-day Friday and into the start of the Saturday forecast at your favorite resort.

SATURDAY: Chance of a few lingering snow showers early in the morning and it will be cold during the day! High temps will only reach 23 degrees in the Springs and 26 in Pueblo. Temps in Teller County will stay in the teens. What about the big Broncos/Ravens playoff game? A few flurries in the morning also in Denver possible...but by the 2:30 kickoff skies will be dry and temps will only be in the upper teens with wind chills making it feel like it is in the single digits! We'll keep you posted.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny skies return, but it stays cold! High of only 27 in Colorado Springs and 30 in Pueblo. Temps for Teller County might make it into the lower 20's.

MONDAY: First day of the new week be another cold one with a mix of clouds of sunshine. High temps should be up around only 30 to 32 for Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Brrrr....
